The numbers you site are nonsensical. Between 10% and 40% of men have raped? That doesn't even have the form a real statistic! Imagine someone speaking in such purple terms, and throwing out statistics of such transparently low quality about any other identity group! You'd laugh in their face and show then the door. As a measure of how off you numerical intuition is, the following is from the NY Times. "In the five decades that Roe v. Wade guaranteed a constitutional right to abortion, polls showed no significant difference in men's and women's views on the issue: A similarly sized majority of each supported legalized abortion, especially in the first trimester." TNYT is known for vetting their statistics and they are diametrically opposite what you intuitively feel. Contempt for rapists is practically universal among men. A small percentage of men certainly do rape, but the idea that it's somehow ok with most men is absurd. Not even rapists think it's ok.
