Of course. My point isn't that the murders are not absurd overreactions. They are. I'm only pointing out that the idea that they are relatively more prevalent in traditional settings where women have long been regarded as property or otherwise have fewer rights does not seem to be the case. The big difference is actually in the total number of murders. The relative percentage that are killings of women doesn't seem to differ much. Which, after all is the point of the article. Nobody needs to be convinced that the murders are deplorable.
