Children and teenagers are notorious for (a) lack of judgement and (b) having no firm sense of who they are. How can anyone who's survived puberty believe that a 12 year old has the wisdom to decide to use pharmaceuticals to tamper with something as profound as crossing the boundary into physical maturity? And how can anyone take seriously the claim that puberty blocking drugs are harmless and reversible? Even without getting into medical details, it doesn't pass the smell test. Puberty remakes your entire body from the inside out, transforms your psyche, and punches your one-way ticket into an entirely new position in the world. What would reversible even mean? It's like claiming that a chrysalis blocker for caterpillars is reversible. Years from now we'll look back some day on this bizarre moment in history and it will be like the tulip craze or epidemics of witch hunting.
